About This Position
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities – Division of Facilities Services – is seeking a Maintenance Specialist, Bldg/Facility/Const, Foreman (PCN 25-2067) to help Keep Alaska Moving! This role is reserved for Alaska residents only.
Responsibilities- Organize, assign, and directly supervise a multi‑disciplined team of LTC employees.
- Accountable for the quality and quantity of work performed by facilities employees across districts.
- Maintain state facilities for the safe and efficient operation of state business by government employees and members of the public.
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance teams.
This position is located at the Fairbanks Hub Maintenance Shop and is responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing facility systems and components across facilities maintained by the Northern Region Division of Facilities Services. The role requires occasional field inspections and may involve short‑duration travel, including via commercial or small aircraft, depending on assignment needs.

Qualifications- Mechanical Knowledge: understanding of machines and tools, their design, installation, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Problem Solving: identify problems, assess information, use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.
- Attention to Detail: thoroughness and conscientiousness in performing work.
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License.
