The Office of the Bursar is a focal point for financial and business matters on the UAF Troth Yeddha' campus. It serves a very large number of students, faculty, staff, agencies, and the general public in a wide range of activities. The quality of service provided is often a determining factor in the perception of the university as a whole.
Responsibilities- Work experience in an entry‑level fiscal position or equivalent. College coursework may substitute for experience.
- Knowledge of UA policies, procedures, and computer systems related to students, accounts receivable, and finance.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Ability to operate standard business machines, 10‑key, computers, and computer software. Proficiency using word processing, spreadsheet software, and working with confidential information.
- Strong analytical/problem‑solving skills and oral/written communication skills (spelling, grammar, composition).
- Ability to work independently and productively as part of a team.
- Skill in organization, time management, dealing with the public, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under stress, be flexible with changing demands, timelines, and pressures while maintaining productivity and excellent customer service.
- One year of college coursework in accounting or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of training, experience and/or education that has provided comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- At least three years of high‑level customer service experience.
This full‑time, non‑exempt staff position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. The position offers a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package, including retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
