The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Department of Athletics is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Compliance Manager. Seawolf Athletics is a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC), and competes in multiple National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) divisions. The Seawolf program features 13 teams competing at both the Division 1 and Division II levels.

Seawolf Athletics is based in the Alaska Airlines Center and the Avis Alaska Sports Complex. We are committed to building and supporting a welcoming division focused on assisting all Seawolf student‑athletes in achieving their academic and athletic goals, preparing them for the workforce, and encouraging them to make positive contributions to the community after their time at UAA.
Position OverviewAs the Compliance Manager, you will be an essential member of our team in enhancing and maintaining a supportive compliance environment, ensuring education and resources are available to coaches, staff and student‑athletes. In this pivotal role, you’ll be the go‑to resource for NCAA and conference guidance, NCAA eligibility expertise, and policy interpretation. You’ll collaborate with coaches, faculty, and campus partners to ensure students meet NCAA and conference requirements.

Candidate ProfileTo thrive in this position, an applicant must be adaptable, relationship‑focused, and highly organized. Success will come from the ability to build trust within the department, foster a supportive compliance environment, and effectively navigate the unique challenges of balancing athletic and academic commitments.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in NCAA compliance or a related area within a higher education or athletics environment.
- Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations specific to the GNAC conference.
- Knowledge of data platforms and institutional degree audit software (e.g., Teamworks, Degree Works, Banner).
- FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) certification, or certification completed within 30 days of the job start date.
- GNAC and NCAA required learning modules completed within 30 days of the job start date.
- UA Safe Title IX certification or certification completed within 30 days of the job start date.
- Unrestricted Alaska driver’s license within 90 days of accepting the job and meeting University’s safe driving criteria.
This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. It is a full‑time, 12‑month, exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package, including retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80.
