ATTENTION ALL ALASKA RESIDENTS! Equipment Operator Journey 2 – Fairbanks International AirportAs an Equipment Operator Journey 2 at Fairbanks International Airport, you will operate equipment to keep runways, taxiways, roads, and facilities safe and operational. From snow and ice removal to maintenance, and emergency response, this role is essential to supporting daily airport operations in Interior Alaska.
What you will be doing:In this role, you will operate and maintain heavy equipment to keep airport runways, taxiways, and roads clear and safe, especially during winter conditions. You’ll perform pavement and facility maintenance, support construction projects, and respond to emergencies to ensure Fairbanks International Airport remains fully operational and compliant with FAA standards.

AIRPORT SECURITY BADGECandidates must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with TSA regulations (49 CFR 1542). The successful applicant must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check and a TSA Security Threat Assessment.
COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIREDThis position requires a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) per federal regulations (49 CFR 383). A Class A Alaska CDL is required at time of hire. Conditional hire approval may be given for endorsements, requiring N‑Tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire.
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION & PUBLIC FACILITIES DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICYSelected candidates must comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures and cannot start work in a CDL position until the pre‑employment drug test is cleared.
EDUCATIONProvide educational credentials in the application. Transcripts are required with each application. If foreign education is used, provide evidence of equivalency.
