Essential Job FunctionsA.
Job Duties Staff Management/Training
- Assist with hiring, training, evaluate and retain qualified staff that can exhibit customer service abilities naturally.
- Responsible for drivers and terminal fleet.
- Manage dispatching of drivers across multiple delivery types.
- Assist Transportation General Manager with hiring and up training process for drivers.
- Maintain a schedule for renewals of certificates, security passes and licenses.
- Maintain a general rapport with drivers and constantly assess and communicate their level of satisfaction to the Transportation General Manager.
- Participate in monthly meetings with a focus on Safety, customer service skills, Product knowledge and operational issues with a focus on “continual improvement” of our employees and our operations.
- Ability to both deliver across all equipment types and thereby train delivery types to drivers.
- Perform initial and annual ride along trainings and sign offs as required.
- Support customers by delivering product when necessary.
- Maintain vehicles to appropriate standards that present a strong Corporate Image and properly document all maintenance.
- Working with shop team and third party vendors to assist with all regulatory required inspections and certifications of our fleet.
- Take out of service any equipment that is potentially unsafe or does not meet regulatory standards, inform Transportation General Manager and schedule appropriate repair.
- Assist in overseeing housekeeping of the warehouse, office and building exterior are maintained to an appropriate standard.
- Assign tasks to staff that keep the facility and grounds looking clean and organized.
- Make recommendations for new purchases and improvements to bring the image of the plant to the expected Corporate Image.
- Must be able to work with Microsoft teams and other office programs, Samsara Fleet, Flyntlok.
- Document the dispatch procedures for the drivers, dispatcher and others. Assure that all drivers and dispatchers understand and comply with the dispatch procedures.
- Support the process of verifying the credit status of customers before fuel delivery.
