About the PositionThe Inventory Clerk maintains inventory levels and accuracy in a distribution center. This position reports on physical inventory, system audits, and the use of the inventory management system to prepare and track materials and products for shipping and receiving demands. The role may also support additional responsibilities such as product holds/releases, recalls, returns, and specific regulatory requirements (e.g., food safety).
Functions- Maintain perpetual inventory of materials and generate applicable inventory reports.
- Perform daily cycle counts, inventory audits, and track all damaged product; provide necessary reports to leadership.
- Verify clerical inventory records against physical counts; investigate and report discrepancies.
- Coordinate product recalls, holds/releases, and product infestation audits.
- Monitor pest control program if required at the site.
- Ensure the facility is inspection‑ready at all times (e.g., SQFI, FDA or other customer requirements).
- Facilitate quality/regulated training and coordinate the site’s quality management program.
- Maintain the site’s quality management portal and draft/revise site SOPs as needed.
- High School diploma or GED required; associate degree or two years of equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a warehouse or distribution environment; industry‑specific (e.g., food grade) experience may be required for certain sites.
- Familiarity with ISO requirements preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Pass background and drug screen.
