Position: Special Education Assistant
Location: Fairborn Middle School
Salary: Starting pay: $18.56 per hour
Work Schedule: 7:25 am - 2:55 pm, 7 hours per day, for the 2026-27 school year
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of teacher-planned activities.
- Supervise and monitor students in all school settings based on teacher instructions and student IEPs.
- Ability to communicate and work with disabled students.
- Must be HQ or be able to become highly qualified.
- Must hold a minimum of a high school diploma.
- Meet the qualifications and/or criteria set by the State of Ohio Department of Education to obtain an educational aide permit (ORC ).
- Occasional interaction among unruly children.
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
- The supervisor shall authorize remuneration if the position does not allow for a duty-free lunch.
