Overview

Clinical Coordinator for Nursing Education – Ross Education Holdings, Inc. (Nursing Education program). Position is at Cincinnati, Fairborn, or Worthington campus—in person and at clinical sites.

Ross Education Holdings, Inc.’s non-profit centers aim to provide students with tools to become health care professionals. The Clinical Coordinator is a full-time role reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) with a dotted line to the Assistant/Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) at each location, and is a member of the Nursing Program Leadership Team. The role is part teaching and part administrative, leading clinicals and maintaining the clinical components of the curriculum in accordance with Ohio Board of Nursing standards to provide an optimum learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Secure, set up, and monitor clinical sites in conjunction with Associate Directors of Nursing at assigned locations; establish cooperative relationships with site contacts.
  • Onboard students to clinical sites and maintain proper recordkeeping and documents as requested by sites.
  • Coordinate scheduling of clinicals with the Nursing Program Leadership team and course scheduling.
  • Provide scheduled teaching responsibilities, including coverage and implementation of new instructions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all facets of the clinical setting, including training faculty, staff, and students pertaining to clinicals (Ohio Administrative Code 4723-5-20).
  • Recordkeeping and scheduling; maintain health and safety precautions for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Gather student medical records and maintain a system to ensure CPR, TB, and other health requirements are up to date.
  • Ensure all Ohio Board of Nursing regulations related to clinical experience are adhered to by faculty.
  • Conduct site visits and assist in clinical faculty evaluations, in collaboration with the ADON for the location.
  • Maintain ABHES site documentation and clinical affiliation agreements, including expiration/renewals as needed.
  • Maintain a clinical site database with contact information and details.
  • Apply knowledge of nursing skills, lab equipment, teaching methods, and record-keeping procedures.
  • Assist in obtaining and maintaining cooperating agency contracts; support clinical faculty with student/site concerns and escalate as needed to the ADON or CNO.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Clinical Coordinator - Nursing Requirements

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree (BSN) or higher, with an active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio.
  • Two years of RN experience providing direct patient care.
  • Experience with precepting, working with students in clinicals; teaching/education strongly preferred.
  • Background check required for employment, including driving license.
  • Protection of student and/or employee privacy in handling confidential information.
  • Protection of the corporation and privacy of proprietary and confidential information.
Additional Campus Administrative Requirements
  • Sufficient ability to stand for extended periods, move around the building and classroom to support student needs; reasonable accommodation may be provided.
  • Sufficient visual and auditory ability to operate computer equipment, read materials, and use classroom/office equipment; reasonable accommodation may be provided.
  • Ability to use current technology to maintain student records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in classroom and individual settings.
  • Knowledge of Ross curriculum and instructional materials; ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames.
  • Professionalism in manner, dress, and conduct as a Ross representative and student mentor.
  • Ability to remain objective and treat all students equally; attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Adherence to Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics.
  • Must be able to travel to clinical sites and meetings.
  • Prior teaching or formal tutoring experience using a developed curriculum is preferred.
  • Perform related duties as required.
