Description

The Air Force Research Laboratory is offering a Biosensors Research Internship for a motivated high school student. This appointment provides hands‑on experience in a professional laboratory setting and exposure to biochemistry and biomarker research.

• Design biohybrid sensors using waveform generators and analyzers.
• Learn gas sensor testbed design and operation.
• Develop skills in data optimization and large‑scale data processing.

• Strong interest in biology, chemistry, and/or medicine.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to engage as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Stipend determined by AFIT.
• Health insurance supplement (participants may purchase insurance through ORISE).
• Relocation allowance.
• Training and travel allowance.

Ten‑week research appointment, with possibility to renew for additional periods depending on funding, project assignment, program rules, and availability.

• Citizenship: U.S. citizen only.
• High school diploma or GED received within the last 12 months or anticipated to be received by 8/1/2027.
