As our sole school cook, you’ll play a key role in making sure our children receive healthy, nutritious, and delicious meals every day.

• Running the kitchen and preparing a variety of meals for approximately 67 pupils daily on your own
• Working closely with our wider school staff
• Ensuring food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures are followed at all times
• Planning innovative menus in line with nutritional standards (support and guidance provided)
• Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
• Responsible for ordering and kitchen paperwork
• Washing up

• A genuine love of cooking and a desire to work in a school setting
• You need to be reliable, show initiative and be able to communicate with children
• Experience in catering (school or similar environment preferred)
• A team player who is friendly, reliable and flexible
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• We would expect the successful school cook to have experience of running a small kitchen, or their own section of a bigger kitchen. You will need to have a good understanding of food safety and allergens.
• This would be an ideal role if you have experience of managing a kitchen and would enjoy working alone in the kitchen but within the wider small school team, cooking for a set number daily and working weekdays only.
• This role will require an enhanced DBS certificate
