Description:
The Technical Leader (Plant Engineering Leader) is responsible for providing all aspects of technical leadership to the plant. The position reports to the Plant Leader and is a member of the plant leadership team. There is also a functional reporting relationship to the ISB Technical Leader in Granville, OH.
- Lead for an Injury-Free Environment:
Live the OC Safety Stand and adhere to Employee Safety Responsibilities; utilize technical knowledge to provide a safe and secure work environment for all employees, contractors and visitors. - Ensure Technical Excellence and Process Optimization:
Understand current manufacturing process capability and drive to reduce variation; ensure product quality and consistency; provide stewardship in maintaining process standards and leveraging knowledge for rapid deployment of best practices; identify, lead and implement process development improvements; participate in scope development and execution of all major projects; actively drive understanding of customer requirements to ensure products meet customer FFU; share accountability for successful delivery of all aspects of the plant operating plan;
lead the FI Pillar and TPM activities. - Lead and Develop Talent:
Create and sustain a culture where talent is developed through effective performance management; effectively staff the organization with competent people; act as development coach for MLPs and interns. - Know Our Customer:
Understand and communicate customer expectations through effective use of standard work, reporting and team communications; assure that standard processes reliably provide product meeting customer performance and schedule expectations; facilitate a culture to maintain, improve and develop effective customer relationships. - Lead Across the Plant:
Drive alignment between plant departments; share best practices; provide candid and respectful feedback; be seen as a great leader across the plant; assist the Plant Leader with other duties as required.

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years progressive technical experience in a manufacturing environment, fiberglass process experience preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience leading people
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing experience
- Computer skills:
Ability to utilize Owens Corning systems and necessary software - Utilizing data and data collection systems, and Six Sigma methods for problem-solving and decision-making to eliminate manufacturing losses and unnecessary costs
