Process/Industrial Engineer – Build, Optimize, and Transform Operations
DP World | Union City, GA
Are you the type of engineer who doesn’t just see processes—but sees how to make them better?
At DP World, we’re looking for a sharp, analytical, and forward-thinking Process Engineer to help drive the next level of operational excellence at our Union City, GA facility. This is more than a support role—this is your opportunity to design, influence, and transform how a high‑performance operation runs.
Why This Role is DifferentIn this role, you won’t be stuck maintaining the status quo. You’ll be:
- Redesigning workflows
- Driving measurable improvements
- Influencing key operational decisions
If you thrive on solving complex challenges, working with data, and seeing your ideas come to life on the floor—this is where you belong.
What You’ll DoYou’ll be at the center of continuous improvement, partnering across teams to build smarter, faster, and more efficient operations:
- Apply lean methodologies including line balancing, PFEP, value stream mapping, FMEAs, and control plans
- Lead plant‑level continuous improvement initiatives and work studies
- Design and optimize facility layouts to improve flow and scalability
- Develop and maintain headcount and labor analysis tools to support business decisions
- Conduct engineering studies to align operations with evolving business needs
- Establish and challenge standard times to reduce waste and improve productivity
- Serve as the go‑to expert for capacity planning and process optimization
- Partner with Operations, IT, Facilities, and Project teams to deliver impactful solutions
- Support capital equipment decisions and engineering project execution
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in industrial engineering, supply chain, operations research, or related field
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing environments
- Strong background in process design, optimization, and cost savings initiatives
- Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, formulas), Access, Visio, and project tools
- Experience with WMS, TMS, OMS, or other supply chain systems
- A hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset with the ability to turn data into action
How you will contribute
- Utilize lean standards in everyday assignments and analysis including line balancing, PFEP, value stream mapping, process FMEAs, control plans, engineering studies, and resource requirement sheets.
- Provide leadership and support to continuous improvement initiatives at plant level, including work studies, developing standards and improvements to existing systems, providing input for functional layouts that minimize space and material transit distance, and using simulation software to improve work systems.
- Develop and update headcount analysis tools (direct and indirect labor) to analyze the impact of changes on business, and prepare summary reports for support of Operations, IT and Business Process Improvement initiatives.
- Prepare engineering studies to ensure that continuously changing operational processes are reflected in operational and strategic calculations.
- Measure standard time to challenge and support reductions in standard time, always striving to eliminate waste.
- Serve as main point of contact for capacity, process improvement tasks, and standard time inquiries.
- Work closely with Operations, Account Management, Facilities and Project Management teams to develop and implement solutions to meet business requirements.
- Manage the engineering function for assigned projects and activities including engineering budget, processes, equipment, work standards and facilities.
- Make informed recommendations related to purchase or lease of capital equipment (e.g., forklifts, tooling, lift assists, generators, compressed air systems, racking, scrubbers, compactors, and other project items).
- Other duties as assigned.
Your key qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in industrial engineering, supply chain or operations research or related fields with strong background in engineering redesign and cost savings initiatives.
- Experience in solutions design within a logistics/warehousing/manufacturing facility environment.
