Warehousing Industrial Engineering Intern

Position Summary

The Warehousing Industrial Engineering Intern supports the analysis and improvement of warehouse operations. This role provides hands-on experience in optimizing processes, improving productivity, and using data to drive operational decisions within a distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in analyzing warehouse processes such as receiving, picking, packing, and shipping

* Support time studies and data collection to evaluate labor productivity

* Help identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements

* Participate in continuous improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) projects

* Assist with warehouse layout planning and slotting optimization

* Analyze operational data using Excel or other tools to track performance metrics

* Help create reports, dashboards, and visual presentations of key KPIs

* Support implementation of new processes, tools, or systems

* Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and leadership teams

Qualifications

* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field

* Strong interest in warehousing, logistics, or operations

* Basic knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivot tables preferred)

* Analytical and problem-solving mindset

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

* Familiarity with Lean principles or continuous improvement concepts

* Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools

* Understanding of warehouse operations or supply chain fundamentals

Summary Pay Range:

$26.00 - $43.00

Intern Hourly Rate:

An intern's hourly rate is based on the major/degree being pursued and the number of completed academic hours achieved before the start of the internship.
