Position: Operator A - Preparation 3rd Shift

Shift Schedule

Monday – Thursday 10:45 PM – 6:30 AM (3rd Shift / C-Shift)

Friday 10:45 PM – 7:45 AM

About the Role

The Operator A – Preparation position is a critical role responsible for the efficient and safe operation of machinery and equipment within a manufacturing or production environment. The primary goal is to ensure continuous production flow by monitoring equipment performance, performing routine maintenance, and promptly addressing any operational issues. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards to maintain a safe workplace and deliver products that meet company specifications.

The Operator A works closely with team members and supervisors to optimize processes and contribute to overall operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare premix slurry using company formulas.
  • Operate sit‑down forklift and load scrap truck.
  • Adjust glaze batches as required and test glaze on a regular basis to meet daily requirements.
  • Clean glaze magnetic filter after each use.
  • Keep the work area clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Operate and monitor machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues, escalating complex problems to maintenance teams.
  • Maintain accurate production logs and report any deviations or incidents to supervisors promptly.
  • Follow all safety protocols and participate in safety training sessions.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and improve operational processes.
  • Assist in the set‑up and calibration of equipment as needed to support production requirements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Additional Skills and Experience Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of production/manufacturing experience.
  • Read, write and perform simple mathematical computations.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
  • Minimum degree of independent action and determination.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights or weekends if required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control processes.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Certification in workplace safety or equipment operation.
Working Conditions

Limited heat in winter, not air‑conditioned in summer. Summer heat is moderate to hot. Minor exposure to odors and fumes from gas‑operated lift trucks, and moderate noise levels are present. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face masks, protective gloves, earplugs, safety glasses, protective sleeves, and safety shoes may be required. Minor first aid may be necessary for accidents of a minor nature.
