Maintenance Technician Class C (Multi-Craft) Position Summary

Since its opening in 1972, our Atlanta facility has grown into a state‑of‑the‑art plant producing 460,000 tons of dry pet food each year, including popular brands such as Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®. The plant houses a 450‑kilowatt photovoltaic system that powers nearly 52 average‑size homes annually.

As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for maintaining all plant systems—including facilities, unloading, processing, packing, and warehouse operations. You will troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical equipment, work safely, and contribute to machine reliability and process improvements across the plant. Maintenance duties include both predictive and preventative work.

• Maintain plant systems: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot electrical control systems, including motors and PLCs.
• Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators.
• Repair gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators, and packaging equipment.
• Maintain wastewater system, boiler operations, cooling towers, and general building needs.
• Execute predictive maintenance such as vibration analysis and oil sample collection.
• Work all shifts, including nights and weekends.

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military, or related environment, or completion of a 2‑year technical degree.

Competitive weekly pay, shift differential eligibility, potential overtime pay, and a quarterly bonus of up to 6%. Full health benefits, 401(k) match, pension, paid time off, and generous maternity/paternity leave are also provided.

Approximate hourly pay: $36.31. Final compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
