    About the Role
    We are seeking an experienced and motivated Field Service Technician to join our growing service team. This position plays a critical role in supporting customers across the U.S. by providing installation, maintenance, and technical service for industry-leading shot blasting and surface preparation equipment.
    The ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, welding, and industrial manufacturing, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with extensive travel.
    This is a road-warrior role that rewards initiative, accountability, and technical skill with excellent pay, significant overtime opportunities, and premium holiday compensation (including triple pay for work performed on holidays).

    Key Responsibilities
  • Installation & Service: Travel nationwide to install, repair, and maintain shot blasting and surface preparation equipment.
  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic software.
  • Equipment Repairs & Upgrades: Perform component replacements, electrical wiring, and equipment upgrades to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled inspections to ensure equipment operates at peak performance and prevent costly downtime.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document service activities, parts used, and customer interactions using company reporting tools (Concur for expenses).
  • Customer Engagement: Deliver exceptional on-site service while maintaining strong professional relationships with clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, operations, and management to share insights, ensure quality, and continuously improve service delivery.

    Qualifications
    Required:
    Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of experience as a Field Service or Maintenance Technician within manufacturing or industrial environments. Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
    • Welding experience is required.
    • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
    Manufacturing Background: Hands-on experience with industrial machinery or millwork equipment. Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel up to 75%, including nights and weekends; occasional emergency travel required. Independence & Accountability: Self-starter capable of managing complex field assignments with minimal supervision. Safety Awareness: Solid understanding of OSHA standards; formal OSHA training preferred. Communication Skills: Strong customer-facing communication and teamwork skills.

    Driver's License: Must hold a valid license with a clean record. Preferred: Electrical certifications or advanced electrical skills (eligible for higher pay rate). Previous military or technical training background. Familiarity with shot blasting or surface preparation systems. Experience using Concur or similar expense and travel management systems.
