Position Summary:
The Mailroom Courier is responsible for the timely, secure, and accurate collection, transportation, sorting, and delivery of election-related mail, ballots, supplies, and official documents. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of election materials while ensuring all deliveries are completed according to established schedules and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pick up, sort, and deliver incoming and outgoing election mail, ballots, and official correspondence.
  • Transport sensitive election materials between election offices, polling locations, government facilities, and designated drop-off sites.
  • Maintain strict chain-of-custody procedures for ballots and confidential election documents.
  • Verify, log, and obtain signatures for all deliveries and pickups as required.
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and distributing election supplies and equipment.
  • Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, scanners, copiers, and labeling machines.
  • Ensure all mail and packages are processed accurately and delivered on schedule.
  • Report delivery discrepancies, damaged materials, or security concerns immediately to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of courier routes, deliveries, and inventory movement.
  • Follow all election policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Assist with mailroom operations and other election support duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in mailroom operations, courier services, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive election materials with integrity.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extended hours during election periods.
