Position OverviewRiverside Research is looking for a Staff Accountant, under the direction of Senior Accounting Manager, who will be a part of the accounting team and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP. This position will be supporting day-to-day accounting operations and assist with month‑end close activities.

Responsibilities- Manage cash related transactions, including daily banking activity monitoring among multiple accounts
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, develop action plans and lead resolutions on accounts
- Process weekly and semi‑monthly payrolls
- Set‑up leave accruals for new hires
- Assist with payroll tax compliance
- Process weekly expense report payments
- Manage timesheet compliance
- Assist with AP and PO voucher entry
- Help set up new vendors
- Assist with expense report review and approval
- Assist with monthly closing activities
- Assist with audits
- Support special accounting projects and process improvements as needed
- Provide timely, professional support to employees and external agencies regarding payroll and AP inquiries
- Partner closely with HR on payroll‑related activities while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Degree in Accounting
- 2-4 years’ work experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to research, analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and prioritize
- Good listening and communication skills
- Willing to grow and take on additional responsibilities when needed and support other team members.
Desired
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with Not‑For‑Profit or Government Accounting environments
- Working knowledge of UKG payroll system or similar
- Experience with ERP systems (CostPoint preferred)
$70,000 - $85,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
