Project Accountant
Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join a growing organization. This position will play a key role in supporting project financials, ensuring accurate accounting records, managing billing and payables, and partnering with project teams to maintain the financial health of multiple projects. The ideal candidate has experience in the construction industry, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities- Maintain project job cost records and assist with monthly financial close activities.
- Prepare customer billings and ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
- Process accounts payable invoices and coordinate approvals with project teams.
- Maintain project documentation and accounting records within the company's ERP system.
- Track subcontractor documentation, including insurance certificates, tax forms, and lien waivers.
- Prepare and process regular check runs.
- Monitor project budgets and identify financial risks or cost variances.
- Follow up on outstanding customer receivables and assist with collections efforts.
- Work closely with project managers and finance leadership to ensure financial accuracy across assigned projects.
- Assist with reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting functions as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of project accounting experience with a general contractor.
- Experience supporting construction accounting processes, including job costing, billing, and accounts payable.
- Experience with Viewpoint Vista is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and follow-through skills.
- Experience with construction ERP systems.
- Knowledge of project budgeting and financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
