Construction Senior Accountant – Job Costing & Financial Reporting A bit about us:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing construction team. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, including job costing, work‑in‑progress (WIP) reporting, project billing, and financial analysis.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial reporting is in compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Conduct regular WIP, month-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Coordinate and participate in external audits, ensuring all required documentation is provided in a timely manner.
  • Manage all aspects of payroll, including processing, distribution, and reporting.
  • Perform job costing and analyze cost variances to assist management in decision making or other financial initiatives.
  • Reconcile balance sheets, accounts, and bank statements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and assist in their professional development.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA designation is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Proficient in GAAP and familiar with healthcare industry financial regulations and standards.
  • Proven experience with external audits, payroll, job costing, and general ledger management.
  • Expertise in month-end and year-end processes, along with proficiency in reconciling balance sheets.
  • Exceptional numerical proficiency and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in finance software and MS Office Suite. Experience with accounting software is essential.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage large, complex projects, and meet deadlines.
