Payroll Technician

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Technician in Fairfax, VA.

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Technician to support the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a large employee population. This role is responsible for maintaining payroll records, validating timesheet data, auditing payroll information, and responding to employee and management inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess strong payroll processing experience, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency with payroll systems and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Payroll Technician will process biweekly payroll in an accurate and timely manner
• Review, audit, and validate employee timekeeping and payroll data
• Maintain payroll records and employee payroll information
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
  
  Run payroll integrity reports and perform payroll reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• As a Payroll Technician, you will assist with garnishments, tax with holdings, direct deposits, and payroll adjustments
• Prepare payroll reports for management and audit purposes
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Accounting, and department managers regarding payroll-related matters
• Support year end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and audits
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience
• Large ERP experience
• MS Excel - Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP's and Formulas

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
