Position Summary
National industrial construction organization is seeking a Senior Industrial Construction Project Manager to lead large complex manufacturing, data center, and/or mill projects. This individual will have significant autonomy over project strategy, commercial decisions, client relationships, team leadership, and execution. The role is intended for an experienced construction leader who can operate beyond the day-to-day project level, contribute to business development, develop future project leaders, and help shape operational strategy across the organization.
This position does require significant travel.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex construction projects with responsibility for overall execution, financial performance, schedule, risk, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Develop project strategy across self-perform and subcontracted work, including staffing, equipment, productivity, prefabrication, and resource planning.
- Manage complex delivery methods and contract structures, including GMP, cost-plus, design-build, integrated delivery, and other negotiated arrangements.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors, and business partners.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on cost, schedule, constructability, risk, and project strategy.
- Lead subcontractor procurement and negotiations, including non-standard contract terms, alternative delivery approaches, and participation strategies.
- Manage significant subcontractor issues and claims and represent the company in dispute resolution when necessary.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and other project professionals.
- Partner with operations leadership on labor planning, resource allocation, productivity, and lessons learned across projects.
- Lead preconstruction, estimating, constructability, risk, pricing, and pursuit activities between major project assignments.
- Represent the organization in client interviews, proposals, presentations, and business development opportunities.
- Develop existing client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand work across additional construction and specialty services.
- Support company-wide initiatives involving project controls, estimating, contracts, technology, training, and operational standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture and serve as a visible leader for safety and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of PM experience within large-scale commercial, industrial, or specialty construction projects.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Prior experience working with unions and collective bargaining agreements is a plus
- Strong understating of project financials, contracts, estimating, scheduling, procurement, and risk management.
Travel:
This is a 100% travel position with the ability to fly home every other weekend.
