Description
Responsible for overseeing events and classes held at a variety of locations (Stacy
C. Sherwood Community Center, Old Town Hall, Blenheim Interpretive Center, and Green Acres) and for maintaining the city's facilities as assigned. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and works in the general direction of the Facility Coordinator and Operations Manager. The role requires customer service‑oriented work, including managing the front desk and anticipating citizen/patron needs.
- Manage the front desk of the centers.
- Unlock rooms for classes, rentals and community group use.
- Set up, break down, stack tables and chairs, and remove trash.
- Handle registration of classes, printing rosters, room schedules and class evaluations.
- Reserve facilities, answer phones and respond to public inquiries.
- Interact with prospective clients, show premises and answer questions about rentals.
- Operate audio‑visual equipment for private rentals or city use (after training).
- Check rooms and lock them up after use.
- Perform custodial duties and assist with special events as needed.
- Greet the public in a friendly manner and offer assistance upon entering the facility.
- Meet with customers to review rental policies and procedures and reserve facilities and equipment.
- Answer phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
- Give tours of rental venues and answer questions about the venue.
- Be the first to open a building to the public and the last to close and secure it in the evening.
- Perform related work assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn various software as needed.
- Ability to deal courteously with the public and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Capacity to lift and/or move up to 60 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to more than 75 lbs.
Primarily Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (5–10 hours daily). Weekday hours as needed. Shift may start as early as 5:00 a.m. and may end as late as 3:00 a.m.
Position is considered temporary and cannot exceed twelve consecutive months.
Hourly wage: $17.00 – $24.00. No benefits are provided.
