About the DepartmentThe Office of the Provost is the primary central administrative unit for the university's academic programs. Its range of interests includes curriculum, instructional personnel, assessment, accreditation, international initiatives, and oversight of the overall academic mission. Within the Office of the Provost, the Office of Undergraduate Education manages undergraduate academic programs that stretch across all colleges and schools at George Mason University.
These include university-level curriculum approval, general education (Mason Core), University Studies programs, the Office of Academic Advising, and Mason Impact initiatives that support transformational learning for undergraduate students, including the Office of Student Creative Activities and Research (OSCAR), Office of Community Engagement and Civic Learning (CECiL), and the Office of Fellowships. In all of our work, we seek to inspire undergraduate students to become engaged citizens and well-rounded scholars who are prepared to act in a diverse, global world, by creating and sustaining innovative programs that enhance our students' academic experience and contribute to their academic success.

The Program Manager for Engaged Learning oversees the Bonner Leader Program within CECiL. In addition to leadership of this student program, the Program Manager supports students, community and civic engagement broadly by managing the registered student organization service coalition, facilitating CECiL workshops, and supporting the CECiL course designation process.
Responsibilities- Direct oversight of the Bonner Leader Program, including student and partner recruitment, student and partner matching process, curriculum development, reflection facilitation, and student learning assessment.
- Teach UNIV 180 and UNIV 380—our first year Bonner transition course and our sophomore/junior course every fall.
- Support Associate Director in the assessment of program effectiveness to make programmatic improvements.
- Provide support for Bonner partners through monthly community of practice meetings, developing and maintaining partner guides, and conducting semesterly or annual check‑ins.
- Serve as liaison to the Bonner Foundation, attending network meetings, completing annual reports, and communicating appropriate updates to the CECiL team.
- Supervise full‑time Ameri Corps VISTA members through Campus Compact Ameri Corps Grant.
- Supervise undergraduate student staff working on initiatives connected to Bonner.
- Advise the Registered Student Organization Service Coalition, including supervising a CECiL student representative.
- Coordinate and facilitate monthly coalition meetings.
- Manage the funding process for student organizations.
- Facilitate community partner connections for student organizations, as appropriate.
- Promote and deliver CECiL workshops to student organizations and UNIV courses.
- Support CECiL student workers leading volunteer consultations.
- Alongside Associate Director, maintain and update the CECiL Course database.
- Oversee CECiL course designations in the Curriculum Inventory Management system.
- Assist Associate Director and Director with outreach to faculty and departments related to course designations.
- Update the website with current CECiL courses and create marketing materials for CECiL course offerings.
- Assist CECiL team in planning and executing team‑wide events and initiatives.
