About the Department:

The Mathematical Sciences Department offers undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. programs in pure, applied, and computational mathematics. Research across a variety of disciplines is strengthened through collaborations with local government/industry partners and nearby universities. About the Position:

The position will teach eight (8) undergraduate courses in the academic year with four (4) in the fall semester and four (4) in the spring semester (lower and upper level such as Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations) and provide some service duties associated with the department's undergraduate degree.

This is a state-funded, full-time (9-month) instructional (non-tenure-track) faculty position with the option of additional summer teaching opportunities. The position is renewable contingent upon satisfactory performance.

Responsibilities:

Instruction/Teaching

* Teaches eight (8) undergraduate courses with four (4) in the fall semester and four (4) in the spring semester (lower and upper level) each semester such as Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations.

Service

* Including but not limited to coordinate courses, mentor students, serve on departmental committees.

Required Qualifications:

* Master's degree in mathematical sciences, mathematics education, or a closely related field; and

* Experience teaching mathematics in a university setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Ph.D. degree in mathematical sciences, mathematics education, or a closely related field, or expect to receive one by Summer 2026;

* Demonstrated experience and interest in inquiry-based learning, active learning and/or other interactive classroom instructional models;

* Demonstrated experience with course design and/or curriculum development;

* Experience providing organized leadership in an educational or professional settings;

* Experience in group-based teaching methods;

* Experience teaching in multiple instructional modalities (in-person, hybrid, and online); and

* Experience mentoring undergraduate students, including advising or research supervision.
