Position OverviewNoble Garden Academy is seeking a passionate and engaging Middle School Science Teacher to teach students in Grades 5–7. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator who enjoys making science meaningful through inquiry, experimentation, collaboration, and project‑based learning.
This teacher will develop engaging lessons in Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, and introductory Biology while fostering a classroom culture built on respect, curiosity, and Islamic character.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned science instruction for Grades 5–7.
- Develop inquiry-based lessons that encourage observation, questioning, experimentation, and evidence-based reasoning.
- Plan and facilitate safe, hands‑on investigations and STEM activities.
- Integrate Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) with best practices in science instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of learners.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student growth and guide instruction.
- Foster critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and scientific literacy.
- Incorporate Islamic values, environmental stewardship, and appreciation for Allah's creation naturally throughout instruction.
- Utilize outdoor classrooms, school gardens, and nature-based learning experiences whenever appropriate.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain positive communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Support extracurricular opportunities such as Science Fair, STEM Club, Robotics, or Environmental Club.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Science Education, Biology, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching elementary or middle school science preferred.
- Knowledge of Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) is preferred.
- Experience with inquiry-based instruction, project-based learning, or STEM education.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to create engaging hands‑on learning experiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with instructional technology and Google Workspace.
