Assistant Professor
The Management Area in the Donald G. Costello College of Business at George Mason University is seeking candidates for two tenure-line positions in Strategy and/or Entrepreneurship. The college is one of the largest business schools in Virginia, with campuses in Fairfax, Arlington, VA, and Incheon, South Korea. The Management Area has faculty with expertise in various business topics and offers courses in relevant topics, minors in entrepreneurship and international business.
The Management Area seeks candidates whose scholarship represents a consistent pipeline of research that addresses significant problems affecting business and society, demonstrates the highest levels of methodological rigor, and is targeted for publication in the highest quality journals. Candidates should also demonstrate an established record of teaching effectiveness and be able to contribute to courses in strategy and/or entrepreneurship.
Responsibilities include conducting impactful research for publication in top-tier academic journals, teaching Management area courses in undergraduate and/or graduate programs, providing service to the Management Area, the Costello College of Business, the University, and the profession, and being invested as a team member in helping colleagues and the College further our collective goals.
Required qualifications include a terminal degree in a related field, a PhD or equivalent, or be ABD with a documented expectation of degree completion before the start of Fall 2027, evidence of potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and an impactful research stream that changes the way we view important problems facing business and society.
Preferred qualifications include assistant professors with three or more years of experience, a history of working with PhD students, and an interest in exploring the use of modern technology (e.g., AI) in teaching and/or research.
