Position OverviewNoble Garden Academy is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Kindergarten Teacher Assistant to support our Kindergarten classroom for the 2026–2027 school year. The Kindergarten Teacher Assistant works closely with the lead teacher to create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that fosters academic growth, independence, and positive character.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, is patient and dependable, and is committed to supporting the mission and values of an Islamic school.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support
- Assist the lead teacher with whole-group, small-group, and one-on-one instruction in early literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and enrichment activities.
- Support students during phonics, reading, handwriting, mathematics, and learning center activities.
- Reinforce classroom instruction through guided practice and individualized support.
- Help create a warm, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and behavior expectations.
- Encourage independence, cooperation, and positive social interactions while modeling Islamic manners (adab).
- Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, restroom breaks, and transitions.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students throughout the school day.
- Prepare instructional materials, learning centers, classroom displays, and hands-on activities.
- Organize classroom supplies and maintain a clean, inviting learning environment.
- Assist with attendance, classroom records, anecdotal observations, and student work portfolios.
- Communicate student observations and progress to the lead teacher.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and staff to support student success.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respectful communication with families and colleagues.
- Support field trips, school events, assemblies, and family engagement activities.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school initiatives.
- Model kindness, patience, professionalism, and strong Islamic character in all interactions.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in a preschool, kindergarten, childcare, or elementary setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing approach to working with young learners.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of an Islamic educational environment.
- Experience in a Kindergarten classroom.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Familiarity with early literacy instruction and the Science of Reading.
- Bilingual candidates (Arabic) are encouraged to apply.
