We are seeking a Deputy Project Leader to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of SES, you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.
Responsibilities- Run day‑to‑day operations of a project or sub‑section of a large program.
- Identify and understand scope of work, work breakdown structure, and project schedule.
- Understand and plan resource allocations within the project schedule.
- Collaborate well with many stakeholders: other project leaders, engineers, field staff, and customers.
- Price, track and manage change orders.
- Plan and monitor cash flow against cash expenses.
- Maintain as‑builts as work is completed; document project issues/conditions.
- Plan and execute project completion and punch list.
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, accomplish, and present your work.
- Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
- Research and compile submittals; prepare estimates for partially designed projects by finishing the design and preparing a complete project estimate.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
- Communicate with people outside the company, representing the company to customers, the public, the government, and general contractor representatives.
- Clearly understand the timeliness required for decision making, submission of RFIs, and documentation of all verbal conversations or agreements.
Clearance/Citizenship: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain a Public Trust is required, ability to obtain a TS/SCI is preferred.
Education: BS in Engineering (Preferred EE or industry related degree) with 5+ years of experience.
Experience- Related construction experience with five years’ working for an electrical or construction contractor.
- Experienced in up‑front project involvement with engineering firms, the client, and general contractors.
- Has managed diverse groups on projects that involve multi‑discipline knowledge (e.g., Fire Alarm, Communications, Security, AV, Power, and Instrumentation).
- Experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
- Experience with CPM scheduling.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints and drawings on projects.
- Must have strong interpersonal and writing skills and be a problem owner/solver.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Can facilitate change and communicate effectively.
- Able to think abstractly, in both short and long term planning.
