Candidate Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience conducting asbestos inspections, asbestos project monitoring, lead paint inspections, lead risk assessments, and mold inspections. Experience conducting indoor air quality assessments, Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments, environmental sampling (e.g., drinking water sampling, soil sampling, etc.), exposure monitoring and/or other industrial hygiene related work is a plus.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to successfully pass a background check as clearance requirements for access to Federal facilities may be necessary and will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and the number of licenses/certifications held.

Professional licenses/certifications (must have a minimum of one of the following)
  • Asbestos Building Inspector (VA, MD)
  • Virginia Asbestos Project Monitor
  • Lead Inspector or Risk Assessor (VA, DC, MD)
  • NIOSH 582
  • XRF Analyzer Trained
  • CMI, CMC, and D.C. DOEE Mold Assessor license
  • Other licenses/certifications will be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Collects samples for asbestos, mold, lead, and other potentially hazardous materials.
  • Determines appropriate monitoring and sampling strategies and conducts these activities.
  • Maintains, operates, and calibrates a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment.
  • Writes detailed inspection/assessment reports.
  • Assesses workplace for occupational health hazards by observing work conditions, assessing records, conducting interviews, sampling, and monitoring chemical or physical agents.
  • Investigates adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions which may affect employee health, comfort, or efficiency.
  • Interacts and communicates with property managers, facilities managers, contractors, homeowners, and others.
  • Employee shall also perform such other duties as are customarily performed by an employee in a similar position as may be assigned from time to time.
