Senior Traffic Modeler / Senior Traffic Engineer

Owings Mills, MD. This role involves a broad range of traffic engineering projects, from local safety and multimodal initiatives to large freeway improvements. Responsibilities include traffic operational analysis, traffic modeling and simulation (VISSIM and Synchro/Sim Traffic), safety analysis, traffic control device design, and project management.

• Perform and manage traffic operational analysis and traffic engineering studies
• Conduct safety analysis
• Develop transportation master plan studies
• Meet with clients and communicate effectively with internal team members, subconsultants, and clients
• Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within the Transportation business unit
• Lead and mentor a group of staff traffic engineers
• Assist in proposal development

• BS in Civil Engineering
• PE license preferred; PTOE preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in traffic modeling/engineering
• Proficiency with analysis software (VISSIM, Synchro, Sim Traffic, HCS) required
• Experience with VISUM and SIDRA preferred
• Experience on VDOT, MDOT and/or design-build projects preferred
• Micro Station experience preferred
• Project Management and leadership skills preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
