WRA is currently seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer in our Fairfax, VA office. This position will work with other Virginia regions as well.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Hydrologic/hydraulic (H/H) studies and drainage
- Stormwater management (SWM) and erosion/sediment control (ESC) design primarily for transportation projects
- Performing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) watershed analysis and modeling for river mechanics / Floodplain Studies
- Preparation or modification of drainage design on CADD drawings/ construction plan documents
- Water quality, quantity, design per VA DEQ regulations
- Storm sewer system design and profiles
- Erosion and sediment control design
- Bridge/culvert hydraulics and design, including scour analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- EIT certification required, PE preferred
- Experience designing drainage, stormwater management systems/BMP's, erosion and sediment pollution controls; and preparing contract documents preferred.
- Experience with H/H design software including HY-8, NRCS (TR-55/TR-20);
Hydro
CAD, Stream Stats, HEC-RAS, Pondpack et. al preferred - Hands-on experience with Micro Station CADD software. Understanding of 3D design, including Open Roads Designer, a plus.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
