Position SummaryWe are seeking an Electronics Technician 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. You will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers.
ResponsibilitiesExecute technical tasks in field operations: on‑site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs; site surveys; hardware and software configuration; testing; and client support. Utilize the project safety plan (JHA, AHA, PFW) and adhere to company policies.
- Participate in quality reviews of design documentation, evaluating constructability.
- Track project metrics and attend weekly resource allocation meetings.
- Verify correct charges in timesheets.
- Execute installation and maintenance activities within planned durations and document completion.
- Track and inventory tools, conduct inspections, and organize material ordering.
- Conduct daily ORM meetings, enforce safety compliance, and report incidents.
- Participate in PITCO plan creation and execution for testing and installation.
- Install system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, and panels in accordance with industry standards.
- Terminate, test, and configure electronic devices, network, and IT equipment.
- Manage base switch configurations and server/workstation setup.
- Perform quality control inspections and document findings.
- Install and maintain field devices, testing components and troubleshooting copper/fiber optics.
- Lead commissioning efforts, track activities, and represent M.C. Dean in meetings with owners and design teams.
- Communicate consistently with project teams, trades, and customers.
- Lead by example, provide feedback, mentor crew members, and encourage innovation.
- Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and time‑management skills aligned with company values.
- Provide manpower and resource planning look‑ahead.
Education:
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program or an electrical apprenticeship program.
- Three (3) additional years of electronics installation/maintenance experience.
Required Experience:
- 6+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance on multiple systems and customer programs.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills; experience with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent time‑management and organization to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vendor certifications in IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom, Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows).
- 3 years experience focused on electronic security systems.
- OSHA 30 certification.
Clearance/Citizen Requirements: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may need U.S. citizenship. A valid driver’s license is required; intermittent use of a company vehicle is possible.
