The core business of our Energy Solutions division is the delivery of Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs). ESPCs allow us to upgrade and renovate facilities in a budget‑neutral or even budget‑positive way by directing money already spent on utilities into facility upgrades. The process covers scope development, design, bidding, construction management, commissioning, measurement and verification, and ongoing energy‑management services.
Our Energy Solutions division has a robust co‑op program for college students pursuing a degree in engineering. The program offers an immersive experience in Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracting for one or more semesters, building industry skills through collaborative project tasks under the direct supervision of Professional Engineers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well both as a team member and independently.
Lighting co‑ops can expect hands‑on experience with commercial lighting systems and, by the end of the program, will be able to deliver a full LED lighting upgrade design from scratch. The lighting co‑op will directly support our lighting project managers.
Job Functions- Assist in all aspects of the project development phase – including site visits and building audits
- Perform energy calculations related to lighting upgrades
- Produce detailed construction documents using CAD for LED lighting upgrades
- Support material procurement and construction management staff during implementation of lighting upgrades
- Field‑verify proper installation and implementation of LED lighting upgrades
- Pursuing a BSEE, preferably a sophomore or junior
- CAD experience is helpful but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Ability to travel for field work
