Responsibilities- Run day‑to‑day operations of a project or sub‑section of a large program.
- Identify and understand scope of work, work breakdown structure, and project schedule.
- Plan and allocate resources within the project schedule.
- Collaborate with many stakeholders including other project leaders, engineers, field staff, and customers.
- Price, track and manage change orders.
- Plan and monitor cash flow against cash expenses.
- Maintain as‑built drawings as work is completed and document project issues/conditions.
- Plan and execute project completion and punch list.
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, accomplish, and present your work.
- Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
- Research and compile submittals; prepare estimates for partially designed projects by finishing the design and preparing a complete project estimate.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
- Communicate with people outside the company, representing the company to customers, the public, the government, and general contractor representatives.
- Understand the timeliness required for decision making, submission of RFIs, and documentation of all verbal conversations or agreements.
- Clearance/Citizenship:
Applicants may be subject to a government security investigation and may need U.S. citizenship to access classified information; ability to obtain a Public Trust is required; ability to obtain TS/SCI is preferred. - Education:
BS in Engineering (preferred EE or industry related degree) with 5+ years of experience. - Experience:
Related construction experience with five years working for an electrical or construction contractor; experienced in up‑front project involvement with engineering firms, the client, and general contractors; managed diverse groups on projects involving multi‑discipline knowledge (e.g., fire alarm, communications, security, AV, power, and instrumentation); experience with contract drawings, subcontracts, addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals; experience with CPM scheduling; knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precision technical plans, blueprints and drawings;
strong interpersonal and writing skills; problem owner/solver; strong leadership and coaching skills; ability to facilitate change and communicate effectively; ability to think abstractly and plan long‑term; proven ability to plan and organize activities; proficiency with computers including MS Office, Blue Beam, and PDF. - Preferred Skill Set:
Accubid estimating (or equivalent) directly related to electrical installations;
Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 CPM scheduling experience and proficiency; willingness and ability to travel to project locations as needed.
