Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineer to join our structures department in our Virginia offices. The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily concrete and steel construction) and a variety of transportation‑related structures such as retaining walls, culverts and other ancillary structures. The candidate will be involved in the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages.

The successful candidate will be part of a team designing bridges and transportation‑related structures and will participate in the development and preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages.

• BS in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural engineering required; MS preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience working on structural and bridge engineering projects.
• Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred or ability to obtain within 1‑2 years.
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications; experience with VDOT and/or MD SHA standards preferred.
• Knowledge of Open Bridge Designer, Leap Bridge Concrete, CSiBridge, and/or similar analysis programs preferred.
• Proficiency using CADD (Microstation preferred).
• Strong written and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills and desire to deliver the highest quality projects to our clients.
• Desire to work in a team environment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
