Job Summary

Logos Technologies is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing technology development efforts at our Fairfax, VA office. This role will contribute to ISR sensor design, high‑powered laser systems, and unmanned aerial vehicle integration. In this role you will provide knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and procedures, apply mechanical engineering principles and concepts, and draw solutions from both formal training and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the conceptual development and design of various systems from project proposal through kickoff.
  • Develop products from conceptual theories to deployable products.
  • Work with and manage a broad set of subcontractors for component and subassembly manufacturing.
  • Assist in the creation and management of project deliverables, including detailed project plans, schedules, resource plans, risk assessment/issue tracking, and status reports for customer and Logos management.
  • Partner closely with Logos management and technical leads on technical direction and approach relating to project planning and execution.
  • Experience packaging optical and electrical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with surveillance/reconnaissance systems.
  • Machine shop and/or additive manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with only general direction.
  • Ability to independently determine and develop approaches to solutions.
  • Be a self‑starter with the ability to perform duties with minimal management and oversight.
  • Ability to function equally effectively as a team member on a group project or independently on an individual effort.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 2–4 years of experience or a Master’s degree and 0–2 years of experience.
  • Understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Proficiency in Solid Works and other design and modeling tools.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing.
  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • U.S. citizenship.
