Energy Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Energy Management/ Efficiency
Overview
CMTA, a Legence company — CMTA is a fast-growing engineering firm with nationally recognized expertise in sustainable, high-performance building engineering. We are a collaborative, innovative, and energetic team that uses a data-driven, holistic approach to consulting engineering, performance contracting, and zero energy projects. We focus on recruiting engineers whose skills and personalities drive excellence, fostering a workplace with growth and career opportunities.
The core business of our Energy Solutions division is the delivery of Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs). ESPCs upgrade and renovate facilities in a budget-neutral or budget-positive way, directing money currently spent on utilities into facility upgrades. This includes scope development, design, bidding, construction management, commissioning, measurement and verification, and ongoing energy management services. We have experience designing the nation’s most energy-efficient buildings, including many zero energy buildings.
CMTA Energy Solutions operates a robust co-op program for college students pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. The program provides an immersive experience in Guaranteed ESPC consulting for two or more semesters, with hands-on tasks under the direct supervision of Professional Engineers. The program aims to develop students into full-time employees who contribute to the company’s growth. Co-ops work on multiple ESPCs and participate in every stage of development—from initial development to implementation.
They can focus on identifying and calculating energy savings measures, developing renovation documents, or gaining hands-on field experience. Solar co-ops gain experience with photovoltaic systems and will be able to deliver a full PV design from scratch, supporting our solar project managers.
