Traffic Engineering Group Lead

STV's Transportation team is seeking a Traffic Engineering Group Lead for our Fairfax, VA or Washington DC office, with hybrid/flexible work arrangements that support both collaboration and work-life balance. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity at a strong moment of growth for STV's traffic engineering practice, backed by a growing pipeline of visible, technically meaningful work across Bus Rapid Transit, Vision Zero initiatives, traffic signal modernization, multimodal corridor improvements, and complex MOT/TMP assignments.

The right leader will have the opportunity to guide project delivery, mentor growing technical talent, strengthen client relationships, and help shape transportation solutions across Virginia, Washington, DC, and the surrounding region.

In this role, you will lead task-order and small to mid-sized transportation projects from planning through final design while overseeing design production, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, supporting business development, and serving as a trusted partner to clients and agencies including VDOT, DDOT, and local jurisdictions. This position is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys developing people, solving complex mobility and safety challenges, and delivering projects that make communities more connected, efficient, and resilient.
