As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you play a crucial role in guiding clients through the mortgage application process. You'll assess borrowers' financial situations and help them find suitable loan products. This person typically handles client consultations, gathers necessary documentation, and ensures compliance with lending regulations. You'll work closely with underwriters and other financial professionals to facilitate seamless loan processing. This role operates in an office environment, where you can focus on building relationships and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities- Engage with underwriters and processors to facilitate timely loan approvals
- Oversee the status and outcomes of loan applications and report findings
- Seek out process improvement areas and implement proven practices
- Assess borrower eligibility by examining financial information and credit profiles
- Administer mortgage loan applications to cater to client needs and fulfill business aims
- Advise & Convert:
Take ownership of a consistent, premium inflow of leads. Consult with families to identify the best financial outcomes and secure high-caliber applications. - Strategic Architect:
Leverage deep knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, and Jumbo products to find creative, compliant solutions for complex files. - Structured Coverage:
Participate in a rotating evening and weekend schedule to capture business when it happens. This system ensures we provide elite service while allowing you to be truly "off" when you aren't on shift—a rare luxury in a 100% commission environment. - Maintain the Gold Standard:

- Experience in operating mortgage loan origination applications
- Three or more years working in mortgage lending
- Finance, business, or related field bachelor's degree required
- Demonstrated skill in both independent and team environments
- Experience with FHA, VA, and USDA mortgage programs
- Licensed:
Active NMLS and State License(s) under the S.A.F.E. Act. - Experienced: 2–3 years in mortgage sales or origination with a proven ability to analyze complex income.
- Sharp:
Confident in navigating underwriting guidelines and structuring diverse loan types.
Location:
Presence in our Fairfax, VA office is preferred to fully integrate with our team culture; hybrid options are available for elite candidates.
