Senior Accountant Opportunity

Our client, a private equity backed and quickly growing government contractor in the technology sector, is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Fairfax, Virginia. There is a solid runway for career growth and development given all of their recent positive developments including potential acquisitions. In this Senior Accountant role, you will play a vital part in supporting their financial close and accurate GAAP financial reporting.

In this exciting new role, you will support an established leadership team and:

• Perform general ledger reconciliations, month end closing journal entries and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Assist leadership with contract revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure timely and accurate financial closings.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and accruals.
• Monitor and ensure accurate revenue recognition based on government contract terms and accounting standards (FAR and CAS)
• Apply and oversee indirect cost rates in line with provisional billing rates and incurred cost submissions.
• Assist in preparing incurred cost submissions and year-end audit work papers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, internal controls, and organizational policies.
• Collaborate on the development and implementation of new financial processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Special projects as required by leadership

Your base pay will depend on your skills, experience and training, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
