About the Department:

The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is an innovative, inclusive, and cutting-edge college that successfully prepares professionals to promote learning and development across the life span, while contributing meaningfully to research in human and organizational performance, as well as in the learning and developmental sciences. About the Position:

The Fiscal Administrator provides comprehensive fiscal support services and is responsible for the management and oversight of the fiscal operations of the department. The position supports a wide range of financial, travel, procurement, and revenue-related transactions, and handles department inventory, facilities, space, compliance, and risk management. The Fiscal Administrator ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with university, state, college, and departmental policies while supporting faculty, staff, programmatic operations, and departmental activities.

The role plays a key part in budget development, financial planning and management to ensure sound fiscal stewardship and compliance with university, state, and federal policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Procurement, Financial Transaction Support, and Operational Oversight:
  • Processes and/or approves financial transactions (honorariums, payment requests, reimbursements, p-card purchases, eVA orders, etc.); reviews and approves reconciliations and supporting documentation ensuring accuracy and policy compliance;
  • Manages purchasing activities and oversees the processing of invoices, purchase orders, and reimbursements to ensure timely payments;
  • Processes travel authorizations, travel arrangements, and travel reimbursements in accordance with university policies;
  • Coordinates and processes hotel contracts, event registrations, and related travel or event expenses;
  • Processes catering and food and beverage requests in compliance with institutional guidelines;
  • Oversees billing, invoicing, and revenue tracking for contract courses, workshops, and events; and
  • Assists with establishing and maintaining consistent procedures, internal controls, and best practices for fiscal operations.
Budget Development, Financial Management, and Planning:
  • Assists in the development, monitoring, and management of departmental and program budgets;
  • Prepares and reviews financial analyses and summaries, ensuring accuracy and clarity;
  • Tracks, analyzes, and forecasts revenues and expenses to support informed financial decision-making;
  • Supports short- and long-term financial planning efforts for programs, courses, workshops, and events; and
  • Provides guidance to stakeholders on allowable expenditures and financial projections.
Compliance and

Risk Management:
  • Ensures fiscal activities comply with university, state, college, and departmental policies and procedures;
  • Serves as a key fiscal resource for faculty, staff, and administrators. Provides day-to-day troubleshooting and assistance related to fiscal transactions, systems, and processes;
  • Assists with the processing of complex transactions and contracts;
  • Oversees the submission of HR requests through the intranet;
