The Intelligence Analyst supports the United States Postal Inspection Service’s criminal programs involving mail fraud, financial crimes, money laundering and organized criminal enterprises. The position will be co-located with the Homeland Security Taskforce (HSTF) assisting the Mail Fraud Program involving fraud initiatives, complaints, and other HSTF Analysts by providing analysis, assessments, and investigation deconfliction services as part of an interagency team.

The analyst shall be capable of using technology solutions to actively search, analyze, prioritize, and present information for criminal investigators.

• General knowledge of federal statutes and the federal rules of criminal and civil procedure.
• Demonstrated experience developing and supporting complex fraud and financial criminal cases for prosecution.
• Proficient in conducting research using the internet and other commercial/public/proprietary databases.
• Substantial experience in analyzing data and interpreting patterns or trends using the appropriate analytical techniques and methods.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing to clearly explain analytical steps taken, additional investigative actions needed, and summarizing results of research and analysis using multiple mediums such as charts and reports.
• Demonstrated significant ability developing and supporting the final work product.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team with proven ability to influence across functions and discipline.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with competing priorities and meet deliverables.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint), sufficient to compile data, prepare correspondence and presentations.

• Reviews and triages fraud complaints in various databases.
• Analyzes complaint data and trends for further analysis and/or dissemination to the appropriate areas.
