Job Summary

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest room areas according to company procedures and standards.

Essential Job Functions

This description summarizes primary responsibilities and qualifications. It does not include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future. The hotel operates 24/7, so shifts may vary.

  • Stock housekeeping carts with necessary cleaning supplies and amenities.
  • Observe knocking procedures before entering guest rooms.
  • Clean assigned guest rooms, ensure amenities are stocked, and complete housekeeping checklists.
  • Mark cleaned rooms for supervisor inspection.
  • Report damages or hazards in guest rooms.
  • Secure guest room doors upon exit.
  • Maintain neat corridors and service areas.
  • Return lost and found items and guest room keys.
  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
  • Know fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Use protective equipment as required.
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or property issues to management.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist fellow housekeeping staff as needed.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Ability to bend, reach, dust, and make beds and bathrooms.
    • Stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Communicate effectively with guests and staff.
    • Inspect rooms for cleanliness and left-behind belongings.
    • Use written communication to document completed work.
    • Perform cleaning duties efficiently with hands and arms.
    Physical Demands
    • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
    • Frequent twisting, bending, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
