Information Assurance/Security Specialist Senior

Data Systems Analysts, Inc. is seeking an experienced Information Assurance/Security Specialist (Senior) to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and maintain the security of information systems within the Army Resource Cloud (ARC/cPROBE). The candidate will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, implementing security controls, and maintaining RMF documentation to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance cybersecurity operations and support the adoption of new security frameworks.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information assurance, federal cybersecurity compliance, and experience with tools such as eMASS and RMF processes.
- Current Security+ Certification
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800‑53 and CNSSI 1253 Security Controls
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another relevant field
- Foundational knowledge in IT systems, programming, and cybersecurity principles
- Minimum of 3 to 6 years of IT and business/industry experience
- Experience with information assurance, cybersecurity frameworks, and IT systems in a professional environment
Compliance with DoD 8570.01‑M, DFARS 252.239‑7001, and AR 25‑2 baseline certifications - CISSP, CISM, or other 8140 certifications highly desired
- Experience with RMF processes, including implementing security controls, conducting assessments, and maintaining compliance documentation
- Understanding of the NIST SP 800‑53 and CNSSI 1253 security controls frameworks
- Hands‑on experience managing cybersecurity operations, conducting vulnerability assessments, and implementing security measures in line with federal regulations
- Conduct thorough evaluations of systems to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards, including RMF and FISMA requirements; identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Report any control violation findings through the organization’s risk management framework or model
- Develop and maintain plans of action and milestones (POA&Ms) for deviations from compliance
- Maintain relevant documentation related to information security, including RMF and eMASS records
- Ensure systems are compliant with DoD and Army cybersecurity policies and standards, and support the adoption of new security frameworks as required
