Position Overview
CGI is looking for a strong Test Engineer who can independently work alongside the client, business, and development teams. In this role you will be responsible for developing and executing tests to ensure the quality and functionality of systems, documenting test results, and collaborating with development teams to resolve any identified issues.
LocationThis position can be located at any CGI office in the U.S.; the preferred location is Fairfax, VA, but a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and product testing parameters.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies.
- Identify test scenarios and create detailed test cases.
- Perform manual and/or automation testing using Selenium, Cucumber, Cypress, etc.
- Own, create, and execute manual and automation test pipelines as part of the CI/CD process.
- Perform exploratory testing using modern tools and techniques.
- Report test results and defects to the development team and other stakeholders, and work on their resolution.
- Analyze test results, identify areas of weakness, and provide recommendations with metrics.
- Work with testing tools such as Junit, Soap UI, Postman, Selenium, Cucumber, Cypress, JMeter, DBeaver, Open Telemetry, Docker, etc.
- Apply knowledge of functional, integration, regression testing and understand performance and security testing concepts.
- Facilitate and support successful User Acceptance Testing preparation and execution.
- Work in a SAFe Agile project and understand associated expectations.
- Present test results to management and the client.
- Maintain a good understanding of the Dev Ops lifecycle, test environments, and code promotion.
- Provide suggestions and feedback to improve quality processes for continuous improvement.
- Handle fast‑paced environments with tight deadlines.
- 8+ years of experience in testing processes and defect management.
- Excellent Java programming and object‑oriented design skills.
- Proficiency in Junit, SOAP UI, JMeter, Open Telemetry, Selenium, and Cucumber.
- Experience with automated and/or manual testing.
- Strong data automation skills and SQL knowledge.
- Exposure to Agile testing, API testing, UI testing, and database testing.
- Excellent communication skills and team‑player mindset.
- Open to change and continuous improvement.
- Automation experience with Selenium and Cypress.
- Exposure to Selenium/Cucumber/BDD frameworks.
- API automation experience.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit‑based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role.
Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $79,600.00 – $.
