Computer Technician – Independent Contractor for Laptop Maintenance
Location:
Fairfax, VA. We require a computer technician to maintain and reimage more than 400 Dell, Acer, and Toshiba laptops, aged 5‑10 years, running Windows 8 and 10. Laptops are stored in Columbia, Maryland and Fairfax, Virginia.
- Reimage laptops using ghosting or clone software via a network setup.
- Install missing software and drivers.
- Troubleshoot boot failures and other hardware issues.
- Pick up broken laptops from storage locations and return them upon completion.
- Attend virtual meetings or provide email updates on progress.
- Proven experience reimaging laptops or computers over a network using ghosting or clone software.
- Willingness to set up a network with your own hardware/software and test up to 5 laptops using a provided master image.
- Ownership of a 12‑to‑24‑port switch, ghosting software, network cables, USB drives, and ability to purchase additional tools if necessary.
- Will work part‑time as an independent contractor.
$20–$25 per hour.
