The Senior Oracle Technical Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership and hands‑on expertise within an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment, supporting enterprise platforms including Oracle Database, Oracle Web Logic, Oracle Linux, Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS), and related middleware.

This position is located in our Lafayette, LA or Knoxville, TN office or Fairfax, VA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities

This role leads the design, implementation, optimization, and support of available, secure, and scalable cloud solutions while guiding technical teams through complex delivery and operational initiatives. The Senior Technical Oracle Lead partners closely with architecture, application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure best practices are followed, risks are proactively managed, and business‑critical systems are reliably delivered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership for enterprise platforms and OCI cloud initiatives.
  • Own technical direction, design decisions, and solution quality.
  • Partner with architecture, security, and delivery leaders to align technology with business objectives and to ensure platform stability, resiliency, performance, and security.
  • Lead vulnerability remediation efforts across all OCI environments, ensuring risks are understood, prioritized, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead operational processes such as patching cycles and pre/post‑patch health checks across Oracle Databases, ExaCS, Web Logic, and Oracle Linux environments.
  • Guide provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of OCI resources, including scripting and automation frameworks to streamline environment management.
  • Support disaster recovery architecture, execution, and annual DR exercises involving OCI regions and cloud failover scenarios.
  • Lead weekly team meetings to track progress, align on objectives, and coordinate work related to OCI patching and environment maintenance.
  • Manage and maintain visibility into tickets assigned to consultants, ensuring timely completion and providing regular status updates.
  • Influence and implement technical best practices.
  • Communicate status, risks, and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
  • Plan work for the team members.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, middleware, or cloud environments.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Recent experience supporting OCI such as Oracle Database, Oracle Web Logic Server, or Oracle Linux.
  • Proven technical leadership in cloud‑first or hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting tools (Terraform, WLST, or Bash).
  • Experience working in Agile and cross‑functional team environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS), Web Logic clustering, or OCI networking/security.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud automation, observability, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
  • Background in enterprise‑scale DR planning, failover processes, and cloud region recovery.
