Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. WS focuses on cyber and mission IT, electronic warfare, and C5

ISR systems. HII works within our nation’s intelligence and cyber operations communities to defend our interests in cyberspace and anticipate emerging threats.

Senior IaC Engineer located in Fairfax, VA, supporting the DoD/DoW Advana War Data Platform. This position is contingent on contract award.

• Develop enterprise infrastructure solutions using Infrastructure as Code methodologies to support Department of Defense mission systems, cross-domain cloud environments, and production-grade operational platforms.
• Design and implement automated cloud architectures using Terraform, Ansible, and Cloud Formation to support system administration, release management, cybersecurity controls, and continuous integration pipelines across multiple operational enclaves.
• Build secure configuration baselines aligned with approved system operations plans, asset management standards, and cyber incident response procedures.
• Develop and maintain automation for patch management workflows, backup and recovery preparations, and release progression from development through production.
• Collaborate with operational units, cybersecurity elements, and development teams to align automation with mission priorities, continuity of operations requirements, and compliance mandates.
• Lead development of enterprise templates, code repositories, and automated enforcement of security configurations using version control systems such as Git and Git Hub.
• Produce architectural diagrams, automation documentation, rollback plans, and deployment artifacts supporting traceability, audit readiness, and Government review.
• Provide technical direction, guide junior personnel, evaluate system performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement of automated cloud operations.
• Contribute to operational readiness by integrating automation into incident response processes and system monitoring workflows, supporting rapid resolution of system degradations, configuration drift, and mission‑impacting anomalies.
• Deliver advanced automation capabilities that increase deployment predictability, reduce operational risk, and support efficient operation of Department of Defense cloud infrastructures.

• 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
• AWS Certified:
  Dev Ops Engineer Professional
• Must be Top Secret/SCI eligible
• US Citizenship

• Familiarity with Advana architecture, Palantir Foundry, or similar data integration platforms
• Experience with data governance frameworks and metadata management
• Agile/SAFe delivery experience in secure environments

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
