Description:

Are you ready to architect the future of enterprise data in the cloud? As the Cloud Solutions Architect, you'll be at the forefront of a major transformation—designing and implementing scalable, secure, and innovative solutions for data warehousing and analytics across AWS and Snowflake platforms. You'll lead the charge in migrating legacy systems to the cloud, optimize hybrid architectures, and drive advanced analytics capabilities that power mission critical insights.

If you thrive on solving complex challenges, collaborating with talented teams, and shaping the technical direction of a high impact data program, this is your opportunity to make a lasting mark.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based data warehousing and analytics solutions, including AWS and Snowflake platforms, supporting enterprise data management and modernization initiatives.
  • Architect and optimize hybrid environments, ensuring seamless migration from on-prem data warehouses to cloud platforms, and maintaining parallel operations during transition.
  • Develop migration strategies, integration patterns, and transformation logic for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and extensibility.
  • Configure and manage cloud services and components to support data movement, analytics integration, and operational excellence.
  • Implement security controls, encryption policies, role-based access, and compliance requirements for all cloud workloads, supporting audit, privacy, and regulatory mandates.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts, cloud formation templates, and CI/CD pipelines for repeatable, secure, and efficient deployments.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud platform performance, cost governance, and operational health using tools.
  • Collaborate with platform engineering, Dev Ops, technical program leadership, security, and data governance teams to ensure technical alignment, operational readiness, and compliance across all environments.
  • Support advanced analytics, AI/ML integrations, and data blending capabilities, enabling self-service analytics and modern data workflows.
  • Develop and maintain architectural artifacts, technical documentation, SOPs, and design blueprints for transition planning, audit, and compliance.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, data engineers, and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of cloud solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • At least ten (10) years of experience designing and implementing solutions for data warehousing, data and analytical programs in the cloud with enterprise scope and complexity.
  • Deep expertise in cloud architecture, configuration, and operations, including migration, integration, and optimization of enterprise data platforms.
  • Proven experience architecting hybrid environments, managing parallel operations, and leading large scale migrations from on-prem to cloud data warehouses.
  • Strong background in security, compliance, and governance for cloud data platforms, including encryption, access control, audit, and privacy requirements.
  • Experience developing automation scripts, cloud formation templates, and CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, Dev Ops, security, and business stakeholders, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a technical or data related discipline.
  • Experience supporting federal data management, analytics, or regulatory programs.
  • Familiarity with data blending tools (e.g., Alteryx), metadata management, and data governance frameworks.
  • Certifications in AWS, Snowflake, Dev Ops, or related technologies.
